Cultural support

We have roles with the specific purpose of providing support of and education around culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) young people.

Aboriginal Liaison Officer

The Aboriginal Liaison Officer develops and provides support, counselling and case management services for young people in custody who are from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island backgrounds.  The Aboriginal Liaison Officer also supports and educates staff and management in issues of culture, confidentiality, gender, race, age, and sexuality when dealing with young people, their families and other service providers.

Cultural Liaison Officer

The Cultural Liaison Officer develops and provides support, counselling and case management services for young people in custody who are from CALD backgrounds.  The Cultural Liaison Officer also supports and educates staff and management in issues of culture, confidentiality, gender, race, age, and sexuality when dealing with young people, their families and other service providers.
